As a new week dawns, so shall our new daily writing prompts.
No theme this week, but if you missed it we did do a week on writer’s voice and another themed week on story ideas.
This week will be a return to a more normal prompting. Just small lessons and more practice for you to get your creative juices flowing.
For today, we will work on being more creative, specifically working with our imagination to make something out of nothing.
Think you are up for it? Let’s find out.
April 26
Write a 12 line poem. Each line must include a different color and every 4th line must mention an animal.
Colors and animals, seems simple enough.

12 different colors, though, may push you a bit. Also, using poetic form to tie everything together and tell your story is a bit tough. Using standard 4 line poems, you have 3 stanzas to complete your task.
Of course, you don’t need to follow standard poetic “rules.” There is no reason to force rhymes, unless you want to. You don’t have to have 4 lines per stanza, or even follow iambic pentameter.
One of the joys of poetry is that it is basically whatever you want it to be.
So, let your creativity run wild and see what you can create.
When you are done, post your poem in the comments section so we can all marvel at your creativity.
Then, get back to work on your WiP.
