May 09 Writing Prompt

Here we are again, staring into the abyss that is Monday looming. Hopefully you spent your Saturday writing a lot of words in your WiP.

Today, you have the chance to get even more done. If you feel you need a push to get started, well, look no further.

We will keep this prompt short, like yesterday. This way you can get in, get motivated and then get on with your own project.

Also similar to yesterday’s prompt, we will do another image prompt.

These types of prompts don’t have a lot of “hidden lessons” in them like the rest of the prompts you will find here. However, they do give you the opportunity to practice certain skills and traits to get you in the mode of writing and writing well.

So, let’s get on with it already!

May 09

Using the following image, write a scene or two about what caused it.

Where there is spark there is fire.
A spark, for your imagination

Ahh, yes. the ever present spark. Is it the start of humaity as we know it? Maybe it is the end?

It could even be the end of a child’s sparkler on New Year’s.

Whatever it is to you, write about it. What made this spark (or explosion, or pop…whatever you want to see it as)? What is it that caused the image to appear?

The more important question, though, is how can you explain it to your readers?

Once you have it done and written, post it here for the rest of us to see and share. Then get your ass back to work on your WiP and get those words pumped out.

We will see you tomorrow for another writing prompt and the start of a highly productive week!
